WJ Plecha's follow up to his debut double CD 'Private Investigations (2006) is every bit as inventive and yet more than a few steps forward in the production realm. Tracks to watch out for are true electronica classics and include 'Valley', 'Whispers in blue', 'The last nine molecules' and the nicely arranged and thought provoking 'Conversations in monochrome'. For the listener, Brightly Coloured Objects is an investment in soundscaping that pays some real dividends, pads and sweeps are a little more evident and percussion treatments a little more daring than on 'PI' and there appears to be much more concentration on seperating out innovatively conceived sequences and brightly coloured riffs. It all makes for a great second album for a guy who's now considering the expansion of his musical horizons with a purpose built Christmas project. This will do quite nicely for now though!
