One of the many things in life that makes for a perfect day is when you get the chance to review an artist that's not only a bloody good composer but who is also truly passionate about creating something rather special, absurdly clever, occasionally unconventional, but more importantly sensually engaging to the rest of us!

Phil Ogison and his label pingthings have something to be quite proud of in the release of Perfect City - an epitaph of an album that has a remarkable habit of sending it's beams of light into those parts of our consciousness that have been laid waste and deserted for the lack of decent thought provoking instrumental excellence.

There's some notable guitar work spread across the canvas's and lots of nicely conceived melodic arrangements. The real stunners on this album are 'dragon street', 'goodbye emerald city', 'twilight', and 'the perfect city'.. easily enough of a reason to get over to pingthings and grab this album while you can!
