Andreas Leifeld died on 1st February 2006.. I actually didn't discover this until I was half way through listening to this remarkable album wereupon I was really looking forward to talking to him about his music at some point soon. As an early pioneer of German techno and minimalistic sound visions, Andreas was ahead of his time in so many wonderful and inspiring ways. This posthumous album is testiment to his brilliance as a composer and sculptor of sound with it's leanings and meanderings through the realms of electronica, world music, new age minimism and cogent ambience. You'll find middle eastern, meditteranean, european and south eas asian bits and pieces here but it is in the way that the collation of styles and melodies are intricately arranged that we see the strongest light shed on the artist's innovation and pursuit of excellence. You really do need to listen to his work and the sooner the better.
